A few spark notes before the big day
A Welcome Reception will be held Friday evening at The Morris Inn from 8:30PM to 11:30PM. All guests are welcome and encouraged to come on a drop-in basis. Jane and Nate will both be present until 11 pm but don’t let us stop the party! There will be light refreshments and a cash bar.
Our ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart on July 3, 2021. Please be at the church and ready to be seated no later than 12:40 pm because our time in the church is limited due to weddings scheduled before and after ours.
Parking is available at the church but is limited. Please use the following Google Maps link to guide you to the Grotto Parking Lot, if you find yourself at any other parking lot not labeled GROTTO PARKING LOT than please do NOT park there as you will be towed. Simply inform the guard at the gate by the main entrance on Notre Dame Avenue that you are going to the Basilica for the McGuinness/Steele wedding and they will let you in.
The reception will begin at 5:00 pm at the Downes Club in Notre Dame Stadium with a cocktail hour followed by dinner and copious dancing! Be sure to get your photos taken on the terrace overlooking the field and campus.
We will follow all COVID-19 protocols set in place by the University of Notre Dame for our event to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our guests. Unfortunately, the university has mandated a cap on guest headcount which has affected the number of invitations we have been able to extend. We apologize to our guests and are disappointed that all of our friends and family are not able to celebrate with us. For those in attendance, the University’s mask policy is as follows: “Those who are fully vaccinated do not need to wear their masks indoors. For those who are not vaccinated, to support the health of our community, we ask you to continue wearing masks indoors”. While this is not ideal nor our first choice, the health and safety of friends, family, and the community at large are of paramount importance to us and we ask for our guests understanding and cooperation.
Our ceremony will be 100% unplugged, meaning that we kindly ask you to refrain from taking pictures on your personal devices. We have hired a professional photographer to capture every moment of the wedding ceremony so please sit back and enjoy being our guest! Our reception, on the other hand, is 100% plugged in. Enjoy taking pictures and share them with #YouSteeleMyHeart.
A Note on Children: While we adore children and hope to have our own one day, our wedding is an Adults-Only event, with the exception of our own first cousins and Bridal Party. This includes both the ceremony and the reception.
We will be sending out new invitations for this summer’s celebration which will include RSVP instructions. Please be sure to RSVP even if you had previously RSVP’d in 2020.
